The future of wine serving - smart wine bottles
As the expectations of restaurants’, hotels’ and other HoReCa units’ guests for wine consuming at such places are getting higher, consuming premium quality wines is getting more popular. In this context, the way of serving wine now seems to take a turn towards technical developments that keep the sophistic character of serving wine, but also reduces waste, while offering more information about the wine itself – the smart wine bottle.
GastroPan 2016: a profitable investment for the exhibitors
The capacity to reunite equipment suppliers, ingredients, utensils and solutions with manufacturers, operators, specialists and entrepreneurs activating in the field has assured the success of the exhibition. At the booths visitors have found the newest and most efficient solutions for businesses such as bakeries, confectioneries, pastry shops, restaurants, coffee houses, mills, hotels, chocolate houses, ice cream shops or other related specialized shops.
Deals worth 50 million euros following GastroPan 2016
According to the first assessment of the GastroPan 2016 organizers the estimated value of the deals that have been made during the three-day event rises above five million euros, and on the long run, following negotiations at the exhibition and the contracts that were signed there and those are to be signed after negotiations the total value can rise above 50 million euros. Declarations of the 133 exhibitors show that considerable sales have been made at the exhibition; many exhibitors sold on the spot almost all of their machinery, equipment and utensils that they took to the fair to present. Companies from foreign countries, which came for the first time to the exhibition, have been pleased with participating at the fair saying that this has been one of the most successful events in this field in terms of business achievements. In almost each feedback coming from the participants the importance of the careful selection of visitors and the usefulness of time spent at GastroPan has been underlined.

The organizers of the fair calculated that within a few weeks right after the exhibition the results of the exhibition will grow, the value of the deals made following GastroPan is estimated to rise above 50 million euros. Numerous specialists who were initially interested in smaller sized machinery (mixers, ovens etc.) saw advanced, automatized technologies at GastroPan and had numerous business meetings, following which operators in the field will opt for using these innovative technologies in the near future. What is more, those demo shows that took place at the booths of the exhibitors , specialists who prepared different products on the spot and various professional presentations completed the discussions between exhibitors and visitors and contributed to the closing of the deal, making the sale.

At the GastroPan 2016 Competitions the best bakery, pastry products, and the most beautiful, appetizing, esthetic, elegant and also healthy cold dishes prepared individually and in teams, as well as the most amazing artistic pieces made of fruits and vegetables have been awarded. The greatest bread and cake were awarded with the Bread and the Cake of the Year 2016 prizes.
The bread made of whole wheat flour with sunflower seed and flax seed made by Baboia Doina from Vel Pitar SA is the „Industrial Bread of the Year 2016 made in Romania”, whereas the winner of the „Artisan Bread of the Year 2016 made in Romania” category is Beldiman George from Adriana Bolgiu SNC company, who made traditional rustic farmer’s bread specific for the region of Muntenia. The Cake of the Year 2016 is Julf Cake, a special cake made by Cazacu Elena Ada from Vipp Fashion Srl company. The best cold plate made by a team was prepared by a team of chefs from Hotel Belvedere from Brașov, and the first prize of the individually prepared cold plate category was won by Citacu Gheorghe from Restaurantul Rosettya from Bucharest. The most amazing sculptures made of fruits and vegetable have been carved by Stigleț Angelica from Autoelys Frasin SRL from Frasin, and Fóris Kinga from Castel Haller from Târgu Mureș. They won first prize both.

GastroPan exhibition begins: the biggest gastronomic event of the year!
The greatest Romanian eventexhibiting the latest innovations from the field of bakery, confectionery and gastronomy will take place between 7-9th of April2016 at President Exhibition Center, in Targu Mures, Romania.The exhibition will be open to visitors for 3 days, presenting a large variety of solutions and technologies. Numerous competitions will take place within the exhibition. Leaders of international associations will hand over the Bread and the Cake of the Year2016 trophies.
Focus on Technology and professionalism
133 worldwide suppliers from 4 continents, from countries such as Egypt, USA, France, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Poland, Netherlands and China will exhibit at GastroPan 2016, at an approximatively 7,000 sqm exhibiting space, a large variety of innovative solutions and technology. They will welcome visitors, specialists with special offers, tastings, demo shows, business ideas and launching of products.
At GastroPan visitors will have the possibility to see how the newest dough processing and forming machines and the most efficient ovens work. Also, they can learn the newest working techniques from master bakers, pastry chefs and talented chefs. What are GastroPan’s novelties this year?
EQUAL CHANCES BOTH FOR ARTISAN AND INDUSTRIAL BAKERIES
One of the novelties of this year’s edition is that both artisan and industrial bakeries will have the opportunity to win the trophy of the Bread of the Year 2016, as this prize will be divided this year into two different categories, according to the quantity of bread produced daily and the method of bread production – artisan or industrial. In this way both the talents for smaller producers and the investments in research and development of industrial producers can be appreciated. The Bakery-Pastry competition section offers two more competition categories in which contestants can present the best pastry products made of shortbread dough, as well as the most amazing artistic pieces made of bread dough. The theme of Bread Dough Artistic Piece category is Tales from Childhood.
CARNIVAL AND REINVENTED TRADITION – THEMES FOR PASTRY CHEFS
The Confectionery section within these competitions is one of the most disputed ones, to which numerous pastry chefs, cake-decorating artists from all around Romania are expected to enter. In order to win the „Cake of the Year 2016” trophy contestants have to come up with original, creative and delicious tastes developed by themselves, and inspiring from the Romanian culinary tradition. On the other hand, the Sugar Paste Artistic Piece category is returning with a new, rich and interesting theme – Carnival, giving the possibility to contestants to explore their creativity and fantasy.
GASTRONOMIC COMPETITION WITH HEALTHY DISHES AND ARTISTIC FOOD CARVINGS
In the Gastronomy section chefs representing restaurants from all over Romania will have the possibility to compete in two categories. The Cold Dishes category is coming with the trendy topic of „Health on a plate”. In this category contestants will have to prepare a festive cold plate for 8 people using ingredients of their choice. Contestants having a more developed artistic spirit can show their talents in the Fruit and Vegetable Carving category, at which they will have to present an artistic piece fitting into the topic of „Wedding Decorations”.
